WELCOME

Hi my name is Michelle and I run Paws - home and away, which is based in Retford Notts. Since starting the business I haven’t had a dull moment and find working with animals on a daily basis, enjoyable and rewarding. In the past I have volunteered as a dog walker at Battersea Brandshatch and the cats protection league Babworth animal rescue kennels. I am a member of the National Association of registered Petsitters, being security checked and fully insured. References are available..

PET SITTING

Paws- home and away provides a stress free alternative to boarding if you are planning a trip away. Our service allows your pet to stay in the comfort and familiarity of their own surroundings, fed and cared for just as they would be if you were there, ensuring as much consistency to their routines as possible. We find it is particularly effective for older pets and those of a nervous disposition. We look after a wide range of pets, from birds, fish, reptiles, insects and mammals, and welcome them all. The nature of the visit, length of time required and the number of visits per day depends on the type of pet and the clients personal instructions. We will make a free preliminary visit before you go away to meet you and your pets. A detailed case history will be taken including your pets medical and veterinary details, food requirements, habits, exercise routine, likes and dislikes, so that we have as much information about your pet as possible. Dogs are always attended overnight. We are fully insured, security checked and members of the National Association of Registered Pet sitters (N.A.R.P) It is however your responsibility to ensure you have insurance for your pets – any veterinary services or medication costs are your responsibility. Whilst your pet is cared for the security of your property is also enhanced as we can give your home that ‘someone home’ look by turning lights on/off and opening/closing blinds and curtains, remove post from the doorway. Flexibility is our aim, from a small shop for your return to watering house plants.

CATS & SMALL PETS

Leave your Cats in the comfort of their own home. We can visit as often as you wish, to feed, change water, clean litter trays, and make time for a play and a cuddle Small pets Any small pet can also be visited at their own homes and we will care for tem as you instruct us. Exotic and unusual pets We look forward to working with as wide a variety of animals as possible. Let us know your specific requirements and you pets routine, and we will happily arrage a customised service for you.

DOG WALKING

Regular exercise reduces stress and boredom and can be the cure for problems such as boisterous behaviour, barking and chewing. Exercising will help keep your dog fitter, happy and active for longer. We can reinforce any training whilst walking. If needed your dog will be towel dried before arriving home. Dog bathing can be arranged

HOME VISITS

If you prefer to do the walking yourself we offer a home visit where your dog is let out in the garden, given plenty of attention and an opportunity to play. Water and food can be topped up. This service is particularly useful for elderly dogs, young pups or dogs who don’t like to be left alone
